Biography Picture of Emily Thompson.

Born and raised in Helena, Montana, I was the typical community theatre geek. I left Montana for Iowa at age 18 to attend Drake University. After graduating, I set out to take the theatre world by storm, starting with Illinois and Texas. I spent my time costuming, directing, sound designing, and teaching acting classes.

After Texas, I took the advice of a good friend and moved to Pohang, South Korea to teach English at EQ English Academy. I liked it so much that I decided to spend another two years in Ulsan, South Korea at Elite English Academy. As much as I loved Korea, after three years it was time for a change of scenery.

My next stop was Banciao, Taiwan (a suburb of Taipei). I started off as an English teacher with Shane English Schools Taiwan, but was promoted to Franchise Senior Teacher after my first year. I loved my time with Shane, but after three years, it was time to go get a "real job" and I moved back to the states for grad school at U of M. I graduated in April, and I'm on the job market!

Currently, I'm the new Learning Technologies Librarian at SUNY Oswego's Penfield Library.
